Getting Around Halifax
Public Transit
Buses:
- Key bus routes: #8, #90 (both go directly from MSVU to downtown Halifax (and vice versa), including The Lower Deck).
- You can plan and time your route with the help of either the Halifax Transit RT app:
- or the Transit Bus & Train Times app (the one I use!):
- Fare information can be found here: https://www.halifax.ca/transportation/halifax-transit/fares-tickets-passes
- Bus/ferry tickets can be purchased at a variety of retailers around town, including the two most common Pharmacy chains, Shoppers Drug Mart and Lawton’s. Adult tickets come in sets of 10: https://www.halifax.ca/transportation/halifax-transit/fares-tickets-passes/retail-ticket-sales#
- Alternatively, you can download the free HFXGo app, which will let you buy digital tickets with your credit card. You can also buy multi-ride passes with it, which could save you money if you plan to use the bus several times while you’re here: https://www.halifax.ca/transportation/halifax-transit/fares-tickets-passes/hfxgo
