This page contains information and links for On-Campus Accommodations, Hotels with dedicated IGA conference rates, and other Downtown Halifax and Suburban (near MSVU) hotels. There are also some important notes.
On-Campus Accommodations
The link to MSVU’s on- campus accommodations can be found below. Please identify that you are with the International Conference Association Conference when booking so that you can access the dedicated conference rooms. NOTE: the on-campus rooms are not air conditioned. The IGA block is in Westwood residence and so are units which consist of a kitchen, living room, two full baths and four single bedrooms.
(Note from the IGA conference organiser: I am negotiating more rooms for the conference and updated/special pricing, which I have not received yet. I will post information here when I have it.)
Book on campus accommodation using the following link which leads to the booking tab (click on “Accommodations,” below, or click here to open in a new tab)
Halifax Hotels
Below, you will find a list of recommended hotels in Halifax. Two of them, the Marriott and Hotel Halifax, are offering special rates for IGA participants.
A few other important notes:
- Shuttles will be leaving from the Marriott and stopping at the Hotel Halifax to take participants to the university. These two hotels are very close to most of the hotels downtown (very close to the Barrington Hotel) and so it is easy to catch the shuttle at these locations even if you are staying at a different hotel.
- Please note the location of the Chateau Bedford, Future Inn Express and Holiday Inn, while relatively close to the university, are not within walking distance and there is no access to public transportation or shuttles. Anyone staying at these hotels will need a car or to take taxis/uber to get to the conference and to downtown. They are approximately a 10 minute drive from campus. That said, they can be a good deal.
- Also note, if you are searching for hotels beyond this list, the Wandlyn Inn and the Bluenose Inn have both closed. In spite of that, they seem to appear in some searches.
